Privacy Policy
How we handle your information when you use ./NET utilities.
Overview
./NET ("we", "us") operates network security utilities at dotslashnet.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and tools, including the Firewall Rule Analyzer.
Current release (browser-based)
The current release runs primarily in your browser. When you paste or upload firewall rules, analysis uses sample data locally. Your firewall configurations are not transmitted to our servers for processing.
You can clear the workbench at any time using the Clear button. Closing the browser tab removes in-session content from the page.
When server-side analysis is enabled
A future release may send firewall configurations to our API for real parsing and risk analysis. If enabled, configurations will be processed ephemerally to produce results and will not be stored in a database or retained after the analysis completes.
We will update this policy and in-product notices before enabling server-side processing. The analyzer will clearly indicate which mode is active.
Information we may collect
Usage and diagnostics
We may collect anonymized usage data such as page views, feature interactions, and error categories. We do not intentionally log pasted firewall rules, IP addresses, project IDs, service account names, or other configuration content.
Technical logs
Server and CDN logs may include standard request metadata (timestamp, URL, browser type, approximate region, IP address). These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability — not to inspect your firewall content.
Contact
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your email address and message contents).
What we do not do
- Require an account to use the Firewall Rule Analyzer
- Sell your personal information
- Store firewall configurations in a database (current or planned API phase)
- Use your configuration data to train AI models
- Capture pasted rules in error reporting or analytics tools
Error reporting and analytics
If we use services such as Sentry or analytics providers, they are configured to exclude user-submitted firewall content. Only non-sensitive metadata (for example, error type, route, and browser) should be recorded.
Cookies and local storage
The site may use essential cookies or local storage for basic functionality (such as session preferences). We do not use advertising cookies. If non-essential analytics cookies are added in the future, we will describe them here.
Data retention
Firewall configurations are not retained in the current browser-based release. Technical logs and anonymized analytics, if collected, are retained only as long as needed for security and operations, then deleted or aggregated.
Your choices and rights
- Do not paste sensitive production configurations if you are uncomfortable doing so in a browser-based tool.
- Use the Clear button to reset the analyzer workbench.
- Contact us to ask questions about this policy or request deletion of information you sent via email.
Children
./NET is intended for engineers and security professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves — especially when server-side analysis is introduced. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
